***EDIT: It’s all gone but Cana is still on!*** Consecration from Russian River is one of our all-time favorite sour beers. There’s something about that strong dark ale, sour-aged in red wine barrels with currants thrown in that just makes your glass sing. So we wondered: what would happen if you used cider as the base instead of beer?
We took some of our CANA currently on tap (Imperial Handlebar Hard Cider aged for six months in 2008 red wine barrels), added black currants, let it get nice and tart… and ended up with something fantastic. Black Currant Cana is our newest small batch offering and we’re thrilled to share it with you. (Since we only have five gallons in this series, growlers aren’t available. Sorry! We need enough to go around!)
